Mayor and Vice Mayor Elected by Peers
Four recently elected members of the Montgomery City Council took the oath of office during a special ceremony at Montgomery City Hall on December 3.
Council members Lee Ann Bissmeyer and Sasha Naiman were re-elected in November and will each serve a four-year term. Joining them are Mike Cappel, a former council member returning to service, and Frank Forsthoefel, who begins his first term on council.
Following the ceremony, council members elected Lee Ann Bissmeyer as Mayor and Sasha Naiman as Vice Mayor.
“It’s an honor and a privilege to be back on council and in the role of Mayor. Over the 26 years I’ve lived in Montgomery, I’ve witnessed an already exceptional community grow and change into a better version of itself,” said Mayor Lee Ann Bissmeyer. “We aim to make traditions out of the long-lasting favorite events while introducing new services like the mental health initiative and developments like the Montgomery Quarter. The motto, a charming past and a glowing future guides us daily-we aim to retain what initially drew you to Montgomery while evolving thoughtfully. The best days are still ahead of us, and I’m thrilled to be part of the next 4 years!”
“It’s an honor to continue serving our wonderful City,” said Vice Mayor Sasha Naiman. ”I’m excited for new opportunities to work with the outstanding Montgomery staff and elected officials — to help make Montgomery the safe, welcoming, beautiful, fun place that we are all proud of.”
