Montgomery has unveiled a new monument outside City Hall to honor the individuals who have served as Mayor throughout the city’s history. Dedicated in November, this tribute features the names of all 26 mayors who have guided Montgomery since its incorporation, beginning with J. Lloyd Smethurst, the city’s first mayor, who served from 1910 to 1921.
The monument stands as a lasting symbol of leadership, service, and commitment to the community.
