We’re Celebrating One Year with Asha!

Posted on May 17, 2025

Asha

Asha is Montgomery’s therapy dog, who started working with Montgomery in May 2024. You may remember we featured Asha on our May 2024 Bulletin.

She works closely with Montgomery Firefighters and Police. Our first responders are prepared to handle any emergency. However, the stress and strain of their demanding careers can sometimes affect their mental well-being. This is where Asha steps in, providing comfort and emotional support after a challenging call.

Asha is a two-year-old poodle. Since she started with the City, she has given lots of love and cuddles to staff and residents. While Asha spends most of her time at the Safety Center, you can
catch her working at City Hall on Wednesdays.

Asha

The City is thankful for The Silver Collar, a North Carolina-based veteran-owned business that trains therapy dogs for veterans. The Silver Collar donated $15,000 worth of training for Asha.

*If you see Asha out, make sure you get one of her collector stickers!
