REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS
The City of Montgomery, Ohio is requesting applications for persons or firms interested in being appointed by City Council as its next Director of Law. The current Director of Law has decided to begin the process, working with Council and the Administration, to transition the position over the next several months.
Current projects include the ongoing development of the Montgomery Quarter, completion of the Vintage Club development, and the City Administration is about to embark on the task to update its Land Usage Code after the recently approved Montgomery’s Moment: 2025 Comprehensive Plan.
Persons or firms interested should submit information highlighting their professional experience in Local Government Law, specifically zoning and development, economic development, public contracts, and day-to-day personnel issues. Please highlight your experience in Tax Increment Financing. The City currently outsources its Labor and Employment and Bond Financing work.
Applications should identify the individual who will serve day-to-day as the formally appointed Director of Law, attending Council meetings, Board and Commission meetings, and a daily resource to the City Administration to assist in their work. If a firm or team of attorneys are applying, provide detailed information about each member of the firm or team who will be assisting in separate areas and their level of experience.
Applications should be submitted by Friday, August 1, 2025, and directed to:
