Special Brush Pick-Up Notice!
Beginning Monday, October 7, Public Works will begin a city-wide sweep to collect all limbs, etc., left over from Hurricane Helene. They will begin with the Friday route and continue their efforts until the entire city has been covered. We are already in our Fall Brush Pick-Up schedule, with today’s route being Thursday. Public Works staff will work today and this week to complete the “normal” Thursday schedule. The Thursday route will also be included in the Special Brush Pick-Up beginning next week.

Please Be Considerate When Moving Near the Street

Grass clippings

When mowing your grass near the street, please be careful not to blow the cut clippings into the roadway.  This causes a serious safety hazard for runners and bicyclists as the clippings can be very slippery.  Furthermore, the clippings will eventually wash into the city’s storm drain system, where it can cause backups and blockages. On top of these very good reasons not to deposit grass clippings in the street, it simply creates an unsightly condition in Montgomery’s neighborhoods.  So please be careful not to blow grass clippings into the roadway, and if you do happen to inadvertently get clippings in the street, please be courteous and clean them up.
