Service Worker 1

If so, the City of Montgomery might be the place for you. We are seeking a positive, team-oriented individual for the position of Service Worker I.
This position requires excellent team skills and the desire to perform high-quality work. Responsibilities include a variety of duties, such as street and storm sewer repair and maintenance; cemetery burials and maintenance; park maintenance; building maintenance; and vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair. This position reports to the Public Works Supervisor.
The successful candidate will have a sincere desire to assist the public, excellent customer service skills, a preference for a team-based environment, and a willingness to contribute to cross-departmental team efforts.
The successful candidate will possess mechanical aptitude, the ability to operate tools and equipment, and knowledge of traffic laws and safety rules. Experience operating backhoes, commercial mowers, and snowplows is preferred but not required.
A valid driver’s license and high school diploma or G.E.D. are required, with a CDL preferred.
The applicant must satisfactorily pass a background check and drug screen. Pay range: $25.56 – $31.93/hour.
