The holidays are always a time of giving. The Montgomery Food Share program makes it easy to provide meals to families in need throughout the entire year. The Montgomery Food Share was started in 2013 by Wendy New and her neighbors in the Montgomery Woods subdivision.
It’s easy to get involved:
- Sign up as a food donor at montgomeryfoodshare.org.
- Receive a Blue Bag: A volunteer delivers a blue collection bag to your home.
- Fill the Bag Gradually: Each time you shop, add a few non-perishable food or personal care items to the bag.
- Bimonthly Pickups: On the first Saturday of even-numbered months (Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct, Dec), donors place their filled blue bags outside by 10 a.m.
- Volunteer Pickup: Volunteers collect the bags and deliver them to a central drop-off location.
- All collected items are donated to the Freestore Foodbank, which distributes them to individuals and families in need across Hamilton County.
